Description
St. Michael, the Archangel, the commander of God's angels.
"For years I have been working on my 3D computer model of St. Michael versus Satan, when Christ described to his Apostles how He saw him fall like lightning from Heaven, in other words, out of the presence of God. I have tweaked, redesigned, reposed, and whatever it took to change and try to improve this model, many, many times. The design is based on the classic Western Christian pose seen in many sculpted art works through the ages. My model I import into my rendering program, which takes the equivalent of a photo of it. In the program, I can modify many attributes of the model and all its parts. It took much experimenting to finally get the effects I always wanted, which can be seen here. I wanted a bit of transparency to show the ghostliness or spiritual or ethereal look needed and finally found it. Not only did transparency come with this version, but I found the transparency also let more of the light sources pass through the parts of the model, offering a beautiful glow that I had not expected. Now I can move on to make more ambitious renderings, reflecting a larger scale of cosmic war including many more angelic and demonic figures."
