This scene, part of the "Space Marines Drop Collection", is inspired by the "Marines in Descent" image, included in this collection as the reference. David used an armor set found at DAZ3D for the marines, then used his own ZBrushed space helmet for the figures. The space craft transport ship was also found at DAZ3D. The planet David created starting with a sphere in ZBrush, then created topology and textures on it, then another sphere was added concentrically, slightly larger, with varying transparency to mimic cloud systems. This rendering using Keyshot is similar to the other images in this collection, using the same 3D models, sometimes changing the positions of the models to fit the different camera angles. During the post-rendering, David added filtering to some images for modified color schemes, some focal improvements, and some hand-smoothing of some polygon evidence if needed.
