Description
Information about the WWII aircraft:
USAAF serial number S/N: 42-107529 Martin B-26C-45-MO Marauder
1942107529, 42-107529 Martin B-26C-45-MO Marauder, Fate: Unit: 17BG95BS Remarks: 17BG95BS Code:66-99 named: Sessanta Nova?
David grew up hearing stories about the aircraft from his Uncle Ed, who had flown in a B-26 over Europe during WWII. The aircraft was very fast, and though encountering problems during its early testing, became a dependable and heavily used bomber. David's uncle was a gunner and also an on board mechanic, who would crawl through the wings to get to the engines when needed during flight to work on them.
This historic air ship, the Sessanta Nova?, was personally more recently described and given details about through a friend who flew on it and was part of the crew. David used that information and built this model digitally on his computer over time in the form of a 3D polygon model. This render is a Keyshot one, rendered over a Vue sky background. David then repainted the render using the desktop version of Autodesk SketchBook Pro.
